Smoking Gun Publishing was founded by the husband and wife team of Janet and Barry Weitz. Married for 39 years, both have extensive and successful records in business, publishing and the arts.
Barry Weitz
Editorial Director
Barry has extensive experience in the publishing world as an editor and publishing manager for leading international publications. During a wide ranging career in the arts he has worked in photography for magazines and publishers, and film and TV production. An experienced editor and graphic artist, Barry oversees the complete editorial and publishing process. He also paints and designs in his spare time.
Janet Weitz
Publishing Director
A successful businesswoman, Janet spent over 40 years in the market research industry, building up one of the most successful independent UK agencies where she was Chief Executive Officer. Recognised as a doyenne of the research world, Janet is a published author, a well- known conference speaker and has sat on many industry and charitable committees.
An avid reader and critic, Janet contributes flair, originality and business expertise to SGB where she is responsible for commercial activities, managing relationships with authors, and also contributes to the editorial side of the company.
